Personal Opinion Whether is is the luck of the draw or the benefits of a winning streak, gambling can be a lucrative or a devastating pastime. I have been in casinos where players have accumulated thousands of dollar credit only to have them tell me that "this is a good win but I am still not ahead". On the other hand I talked to one person that says he plays no less that one thousand dollars and usually, when the day is over he says "I am ahead about thirty thousand". My personal opinion about gambling is that since the house is always the favorite to win, that a player can only win in the short run. So in the short run, if he has enough money to bet big until the big payout, he may win a significant amount. The payout has to be big enough to cover his previous bets and provide significant increase. If one is lucky enough to achieve this the best thing to do is to change games and not count on lightning striking twice. This is probably a wise strategy, but on the other hand I personally have been on a slot machine for four hours netting about 50 dollars every half hour, but this rarely happens. In general gambling is fun (for me only when you win) but whether or not any given legal strategy will work is theoretical at best. The next time you gamble, set guidelines so that you know that you can have fun regardless. Pay games that are entertaining but within financial guidelines. have fun gambling!
